IG Video Downloader - SocialPlus ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the IG Video Downloader - SocialPlus Chrome extension (the "Extension") collects, uses, stores, shares, and otherwise processes information when you use it.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the IG Video Downloader - SocialPlus browser extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites or services, including Instagram, Meta, or any website you visit separately.

2. Information We Process

When you use the Extension on Instagram, we may process:

  • Instagram post, reel, story, or highlight URLs
  • Media image or video URLs
  • Visible media elements
  • Username or profile name associated with the media
  • Media IDs, timestamps, thumbnails, and related metadata
  • Current Instagram page URL or path
  • Limited local Extension state
  • Limited diagnostic event logs

We do not collect Instagram passwords, payment information, private messages, precise location, contacts, health data, financial data, or downloaded media files themselves.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  1. Detect downloadable Instagram media.
  2. Display available photos or videos.
  3. Download selected media to your device.
  4. Create downloaded file names.
  5. Store local Extension state.
  6. Diagnose errors and compatibility issues.
  7. Retrieve Extension configuration.
  8. Open our website for onboarding, update, uninstall, help, or support flows.

The Extension's use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

We do not sell user data. We do not use user data for third-party advertising, credit scoring, lending, insurance eligibility, employment decisions, or similar purposes.

4. Permissions and Network Access

The Extension requests:

  • storage: used to save limited local Extension state.
  • https://www.instagram.com/*: used to detect and process downloadable media from Instagram pages.

The Extension may interact with Instagram, SocialPlus.ai, Alibaba Cloud OSS, and Alibaba Cloud Log Service over HTTPS where applicable.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only as described in this policy, as directed by you, or when required by law.

Alibaba Cloud OSS may process normal technical request information when the Extension retrieves configuration files.

Alibaba Cloud Log Service may process limited diagnostic logs, such as event type, event name, timestamp, current Instagram page URL or path, IP address, and user agent.

Retention: telemetry logs are retained for 7 days, then deleted or anonymized according to our log configuration.

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.

6. International Transfers

Because we may use cloud service providers, including Alibaba Cloud, your information may be processed outside your country or region, including in the United States.

7. Retention

Local Extension data remains on your device until you clear Extension data, reset Chrome storage, or uninstall the Extension.

Downloaded media is saved only to your device. We do not store downloaded media on our servers.

Diagnostic logs are retained for 7 days, then deleted or anonymized according to our log configuration.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information processed by the Extension.

Local data is stored using Chrome extension storage APIs. Remote requests are transmitted over HTTPS where applicable. Access to logs and operational systems is limited to authorized personnel.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

  • Uninstall the Extension
  • Clear Extension storage in Chrome
  • Delete downloaded files from your device
  • Avoid using the Extension on Instagram
  • Contact us about privacy-related requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.

10. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the "Last updated" date and post the updated policy at the same privacy policy URL used in the Chrome Web Store listing.
